CHILD CARE HELPER JOB DESCRIPTION PURPOSE: To serve as a helper for child care during weekday Bible studies. I. JOB REQUIREMENTS A. Character: The Child Care Helpers should be of high personal character and commitment to God and should be at least 13 years old. B. Training: The Child Care Helper should have completed the training course of the church (including filling out application, background check approved, sign Code of Ethics and watch DVD from insurance company) and participate in ongoing training as the opportunities arise. C. Experience: The Child Care Helper should have interest in working with children and developing their skills in this area. II. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES A. Facility Set- up 1. Be on time and help with the facility set up prior to children’s arrival. 2. Work with the Lead Worker at all times. 3. Be familiar with the selected curriculum and help the Lead Worker to set up materials and supplies for children each week. B. Care of the Children 1. Help Lead Worker carry out the selected curriculum with the children. 2. Be familiar with known allergies of all children. 3. Ensure that the children are safe at all times. If accident occurs make sure Lead Worker knows the details. 4. Help to ensure that there are two adults with the children at all times. 5. Help maintain order and discipline with the children at all times. C. Working with Lead Worker 1. Communicate any concerns or suggestions to the Lead Worker each day. 2. Work with Lead Worker to use your strengths and further develop your skills in working with children. D. Working with Parents 1. Help to ensure that the parents use the sign in and sign out system effectively. 2. Help to communicate regularly with the parents of children in this ministry.
